Lindencorso –
ONE OF GERMANY'S MOST FAMOUS JUNCTIONS

The crossroads at Friedrichstrasse / Unter den Linden is a highly attractive interface. Bustling Friedrichstrasse was once the shopping parade favoured by the middle classes. In those days, it was fashionable to stroll up and down the wide boulevard in order to "see and be seen". The hotels, restaurants and cafés along the promenade acted as a magnet both for Berlin's citizens and for visitors to the capital. The spot now occupied by LINDENCORSO is where the popular Café Bauer used to stand. Both Paul Linke, the composer, and Egon Erwin Kisch, the racing reporter, had a "pied à terre" here. A salon where scholars, military officers and entrepreneurs could gather or simply for people who wanted to inhale the proverbial "Berliner Luft" – the air of Berlin – at this prominent location. LINDENCORSO strives to uphold this tradition and is a meeting-point for commerce and culture.
